As you may be aware the next Census for England and Wales will take place on Sunday 21 March 2021.
The data the Census provides underpins the planning and funding of public services, therefore ensuring that our count here in South Gloucestershire is as accurate as possible is of paramount importance, so we receive the resource allocations and funding we are entitled to from central government and have the best data to plan our services effectively.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) will run the Census and have recently appointed Census Engagement Managers (CEMs) to take the work forward locally. The ONS has produced an informative 2021 Census Community Handbook which explains what the Census is all about, why it matters and how you can help to spread the word across your community. The handbook and other useful information can be downloaded from: https://census.gov.uk
